I have been a purchasing consultant at AN NENG for many years. I have witnessed many clients suffer from the consequences of choosing the wrong equipment in the early stages. Either they delayed the project schedule or wasted their money unnecessarily. In fact, when purchasing a column-type slitting machine, there is no need to worry. The key is to select the one that is suitable for your project, and then find a reliable manufacturer. Today, I will share with you the 7 purchasing tips that I have summarized. They are all solid experience. Just follow them and you will avoid many pitfalls.
I. determine where it will be used, then select the equipment type.
Before purchasing the equipment, make sure you clearly understand what you intend to use it for - this is the most fundamental and crucial step. Otherwise, you might easily make a wrong purchase. Based on the customer cases we have encountered in the past, I will present several common scenarios for you:
1.It should be for heavy tasks such as mining and splitting hard rocks: then choose the high-pressure hydraulic model. The splitting force should be at least 30 MPa or more. The body must be sturdy and wear-resistant, capable of withstanding damp and dusty environments.
2. For light tasks such as building maintenance or interior renovations: Choose lightweight pneumatic or electric models. The key is to consider the weight (preferably under 20 kilograms, for ease of transportation), and the noise level should also be low.
3. For tasks such as dismantling concrete or modifying bridges that require precise operations: hydraulic equipment is more suitable. Moreover, the splitting force can be adjusted, and the noise level should be kept below 75 decibels to minimize disturbance to the surrounding area and comply with environmental protection requirements.
A reminder: If your working conditions are particularly special, such as when you need to use it in high-temperature or low-temperature environments, or when you need to cut special-sized workpieces, be sure to inform the manufacturer in advance. Don't buy the general model and then find it unusable.
II. Verify the parameters and don't fall victim to "false labeling" scams.
Some small manufacturers on the market tend to exaggerate the equipment parameters. For instance, they might claim a splitting force of 50 MPa, but in reality, it simply cannot be achieved. When purchasing, don't just rely on the promotional materials. Focus on verifying these key parameters:
1.Splitting force: The selection of the splitting force depends on the hardness of the workpiece to be split. For splitting concrete, a force of 20-30 MPa is required, while for splitting hard rocks, a force of 30-50 MPa is needed.
2. Diameter compatibility: It should be able to cover the size of the workpiece you are going to process. It is advisable to leave a margin of 5-10mm for extra safety.
3. Power parameters: For hydraulic models, it depends on the power of the hydraulic pump and the supply pressure; for pneumatic models, it depends on the pressure and flow rate of the compatible Air Compressor; for electric models, it depends on the motor power and voltage.
4. Service life: Ask about the lifespan of key components (such as the cutter blade, hydraulic pump), how long they can be used, and when they need to be replaced. This directly affects the cost of future usage.
We suggest that when purchasing, either have the manufacturer provide a third-party test report, or go directly to the factory to test the equipment in person. Only by seeing with your own eyes and confirming that the parameters are correct can it be considered reliable. All AN NENG equipment is tested three times before leaving the factory, and the parameters are all genuine and not falsely labeled.
III. Confirm authoritative certifications to avoid compliance issues
If it is for export or for large-scale engineering projects, equipment certification must be taken seriously. For instance, when exporting to Europe, CE certification is mandatory. Without this, the customs clearance cannot be completed. Additionally, in the North American market, there are UL certifications and explosion-proof certifications for mining purposes. The requirements vary from region to region.
When purchasing, don't just rely on what the manufacturer says about the certification. It's better to check the serial number on the official website of the certification institution to confirm that it's genuine. All our AN NENG series column-type slitting machines have passed the CE certification. If you have certification requirements for other regions, we can also customize them for you to ensure that the equipment can be used normally.
IV. When choosing a manufacturer, prefer to opt for "direct supply from the original factory" as it ensures reliable after-sales service.
The column-type cutting machine is an industrial equipment. Subsequent installation, maintenance, and replacement of parts all require support from the manufacturer. Therefore, choosing a reliable manufacturer is much more important than simply buying a cheaper device. When selecting a manufacturer, consider the following three points:
Do you have your own factory? Are the core components produced by yourself? Don't deal with those middlemen traders. After-sales service will be neglected if you do.
2. Customization possible: If your requirements are particularly unique, can the manufacturer adjust the parameters and dimensions according to your specifications?
3. Response speed for after-sales service: If the equipment has a problem, can you reply within 24 hours? Are there services such as on-site repair or remote guidance available?
We suggest that everyone choose the original factory direct-supplied manufacturers first. For example, our AN NENG is a company that produces and sells its own products. There are no intermediaries involved, so the prices are more reasonable. If you have any problems in the future, just contact us directly. It's much more convenient than dealing with middlemen.
V. Focus on the ease of maintenance and reduction of subsequent troubles
Industrial equipment needs maintenance after being used for a long time. If the maintenance is troublesome and the spare parts are hard to obtain, it will cause a lot of headaches in the future. When purchasing, you can pay attention to the following two points:
1.Is maintenance simple or not? In daily operations, just cleaning, adding oil, and replacing small parts - can it be handled without professional tools and technicians?
2. Availability of accessories: Can the manufacturer promptly supply original factory accessories? Will the prices be inflated? We have accessory warehouses in several locations around the world. Commonly used accessories can be delivered within 3 to 7 days, so there's no need to wait for a long time.
VI. Don't blindly chase low prices or high prices. The key lies in cost-effectiveness.
Many people tend to fall into two common mistakes when purchasing equipment: either they only buy the cheapest option, only to have it break down after a few days; or they believe that anything expensive must be of good quality, and thus spend a lot of unnecessary money. In fact, what is truly cost-effective is when the value of the equipment matches its price. Let me make a simple comparison for you, and you'll understand it immediately:
| Evaluation dimension | Low-quality and cheap equipment | High-quality equipment (such as AN NENG) |
| Initial purchase price | Low (reduces short-term costs) | Moderately high (reasonable investment) |
| Service life | Short (2-3 years) | Long (8-10 years) |
| Maintenance cost | High (Frequent failures, difficult to find spare parts) | Low (with low failure rate and original factory spare parts guarantee) |
| Operational efficiency | Low (parameter mislabeling, insufficient power) | High (stable performance, abundant power) |
| composite cost | High (short-term savings, long-term loss) | Low (One-time investment, long-term benefit) |
